The Domestic Violence Abuse Intervention Program provides comprehensive services to adult offenders of domestic violence and intimate partner violence. Services are available to adults (18+) who have been charged, convicted, or engaged in domestic violence. Services are designed to increase victim and community safety by reducing offender risk of recidivism.
Services include:
intensive individual therapy
group therapy
case management
evaluation and risk assessment
individualized service planning
group facilitation
Staff work collaboratively with a Multi-Disciplinary Treatment Team (MTT) which includes, victim advocates, local law enforcement, probation officers, the prosecutor’s office, and court systems. The Multi-Diciplinary Treatment Team will oversee decisions on initial treatment level placements, changes in levels, and decisions about discharge for each participant.
The proposed treatment and strategies are based on the Colorado Domestic Violence Offender Treatment Model. Treatment is based on the level of risks measured by the Domestic Violence Risk & Needs Assessment Tool; used to assign domestic violence offenders to treatment intensity levels at intake and throughout the decision-making process regarding treatment options.
