The TIP - Camden County program helps good parents become great parents. This program provides parenting skills, education, and welfare-to-work support to expectant women and new mothers with a baby under the age of one. Program goals include providing the supports to ensure the welfare of children, to stabilize families and promote self-sufficiency. Mothers can receive services up until the baby turns one, provided she is in compliance with the program. Participation is renewed in three month increments.

Services are currently being offered remotely, in-person, and hybrid. 

Services include:

  • CWEP positions available (for TIP-eligible clients only)
  • child care, food prep, and facility maintenance
  • daily educational workshop and parent support groups
  • weekly home visitation with a Healthy Families/TIP Family Support worker
  • promoting healthy child development
  • life skills counseling
  • career exploration
  • employment coaching
  • balancing work, family, and access to child care

Participation in the TIP program can count toward part or all of one's mandatory TANF/GA work activity requirement. TIP as a work activity:

  • TIP CWEP - 25 hour core activity
  • Healthy Families/TIP Home Visitation - 10 hour non-core activity

The program is free and participation is voluntary for mothers and their children living in Camden County.
