Center For Family Services welcomes your involvement as a volunteer advocate to help the Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV) program support survivors of domestic and sexual violence and human trafficking.  If you are interested in volunteer service as a Domestic Violence Advocate, Sexual Violence Advocate, or Anti-Trafficking Advocate, please complete the form at the bottom of this page.

 

SERV Sexual Violence Advocate

SERV Sexual Violence program Volunteer Advocates residing in Camden, Cumberland, or Gloucester County are needed to accompany sexual violence victims to the hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and courts. Confidential Sexual Violence Advocates (CSVA) assist with crisis intervention, advocacy, and hotline calls. Volunteers also attend community and health fairs representing Center For Family Services and the SERV program.

Volunteers must:

  • be 18 years of age
  • Complete 40 hours of CSVA training (for volunteers only serving Camden) and pass the Sexual Violence Advocate exam / Complete the 60 hours of CSVA and DVRT training (for Gloucester and Cumberland Counties) and pass the dual Domestic & Sexual Violence Advocate exam

SERV Domestic Violence Advocate

Domestic VIolence Response Team (DVRT) volunteers assist with crisis intervention, advocacy, and hotline calls. Volunteers also attend community and health fairs representing Center For Family Services and the SERV program.

Volunteers must:

  • be 18 years of age
  • Complete 60 hours of CSVA and DVRT training (for volunteers in Cumberland and Gloucester County) and pass the dual Domestic & Sexual Violence Advocate exam.

SERV Anti-Human Trafficking Advocate

SERV Human Trafficking is in need of volunteers to provide companionship and advocacy to victims of human trafficking. Our volunteers will be providing direct-care services, accompaniment to social service agencies, translation (if possible), support, advocacy, technical assistance, and a variety of other tasks. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to 5 hours or more each week.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Have access to transportation
  • Must be compassionate, empathetic, and victim-centered    
  • Undergo a background check

21 hours of training are required for this position and training will be held in Vineland, NJ. The opportunity takes place in Camden, Gloucester and Cumberland counties.
