January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and January 11 is observed as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day (#WearBlueDay). By wearing blue and sharing a photo on social media, you send a message that you stand with survivors of modern-day slavery. Center For Family Services joins this annual initiative with the Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV) program. SERV provides crisis intervention, counseling, and support to survivors of human trafficking, sexual violence, and domestic violence in South Jersey. Our dedicated team of highly trained and compassionate staff provide personalized care to help people follow a path to healing.

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery in which traffickers use force, fraud, or coercion to control victims for the purpose of engaging in commercial sex acts or labor services against their will. This event is one of many in which SERV aims to educate the public about human trafficking and provide information on how we can all help with prevention and recovery efforts in our community.

Plan to wear blue on January 11 as we speak out for those affected by human trafficking. When posting your pictures on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, include hashtags #StandSpeakEmpower and #WearBlueDay. We may share your photo if you tag us (@cfsserv)!
