The next meeting of the South Jersey Anti-Trafficking Coalition will be held on April 15, 2019, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., at the Pitman United Methodist Church. Our guest speaker will be Kristin Leland. Kristin is the Chief Operating Officer of Voices in Action, a survivor-led nonprofit that works to prevent and eradicate the culture of sexual assault and misconduct in the entertainment industry and beyond through an innovative digital reporting and survivor-matching system.

Kristin will be discussing the current climate of sexual abuse and misconduct in the entertainment industry and beyond after the surge of the #MeToo Movement: what has changed, what hasn’t, and what still needs to happen to create safer working conditions for all. This includes background and updates on Harvey Weinstein’s case, the blurred lines of human trafficking in the entertainment industry, and news on the grassroots organizations like Voices in Action that have formed to do something about the epidemic that Hollywood won’t face.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Visit denimdaysnj.org for more information on how you can take part in the SERV campaign to end sexual violence.
